Chandler Cox - Meeting Facilatator

Chandler is a senior in the Iowa State University Electrical Engineering program. He has interest in both power distribution and controls/automation. He has experience with project management from his internships with the Renewable Energy Group and is the meeting facilitator for the senior design team. This role includes setting up meetings with the team, making sure the the meetings are helpful, and that everyone is participating. After graduating, Chandler is interested in finding job in either power distribution or controls/automation.

Owen Swanberg - Scribe

This is Owen's fourth year studying Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University emphasizing in power systems. Owen will attend Nuclear Power School in Charleston, South Carolina upon graduating and will serve in the submarine community for the U.S. Navy. His interest in this senior design project comes from experiencing the importance of having consistant and safe power on submarines and wanting to expand his knowledge on power systems. As scribe, Owen takes meeting notes of all group and client meetings for reference or absent group members. Owen plans to leave the Navy with a master's degree in electrical engineering and work in the northwestern part of the United States.

Mohammad Habib - Report Manager

Mohammad is a fourth-year student at Iowa State University studying Electrical Engineering, emphasizing power systems. Mohammad has an associate degree in power systems. He worked as an electrical technician in Sudan. Besides that, he has one internship with the National Electricity Authority in Sudan. He plans to finish his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and pursue a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Zachary Lewis - Report Manager

Zachary is a senior in the Iowa State University Electrical Engineering program, with an emphasis in power systems and semiconductor devices. He has experience with long term asset management and license renewal from his internship with Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation and is responsible for the management of team reports on the senior design project. His interest in the senior design project stems from his desire to learn more about power systems applied to the field and to gain familiarity with the design process of a substation. Zachary plans to finish his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and work within either the power or semiconductor fabrication industries.

Aladdin Adam - QA/QC Manager

Aladdin is a fourth-year student at Iowa State University studying Electrical Engineering, emphasizing power systems, and digital design "VLSI." Aladdin has an associate degree in Electronics and communication. He worked in a power plant facility in the maintenance department before returning to school to get his bachelor's degree. Besides that, he has a tow internship with a department of communications in Sudan. Aladdin wants to work in substation designing.

Joseph Miller - Head Engineer

Joseph is a fourth year student at Iowa State University studying Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power systems. He has done four internships with Burns & McDonnell in the substation department serving clients such as First Energy. Joseph also does research at Iowa State under the guidance of Dr. Hugo N. Villegas-Pico. Joseph's research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and power systems. His interest in this senior design project stems from his internship experience and desire to learn more about substation design. As head engineer, Joseph assigns work to the other members of the team and ensures everyone is staying busy. Because he has expereince in substation design, he also supports the team by answering general design/formatting questions. Upon graduation, Joseph plans to work in industry for a period of time before returning to academia to pursue a master's degree in electrical engineering.
